Flower and plant care guide.

Firstly buy from a reputable source. Why?

Because garden centres and florist know how to look after plants. Supermarkets, garages and other outlets will leave their plants in drafts and unsuitable conditions and don’t know how to look after them. They may look OK at the point of sale but please be warned, especially if you want them to last.
Once you have unwrapped your flowers and trimmed the stems (at an angle). place the flowers (and flower food) in a non-metalic vase containing luke warm water. Then display in a cool, shady place away from draughts, direct heat or sunlight.

Handle with care.

Lily pollen may stain, remove the stamens from any newly opoened flowers and avoid any direct contact.
We recommend that you do not place your flowers or plants on an unprotected surface

Flowers and plants are for display purposes only and must not be eaten.

Certain plants and flowers may be harmful or cause irritation. in the case of irritation, wash affected area imediately with cold water. Do not touch irritated skin, and seek a doctor if symptoms persist. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

How to make flowers last longer.

Step 1 – To make your flowers last longer, always bleach the inside of your flower vase after use and swill out with fresh water.

Step 2 – When you get your flowers home cut down your flowers to fit your vase, cut the stems at the bottom, on an angle, with a sharp knife.

Step 3 – Strip the leaves from the stem, do not allow any of the leaves to go under the water. If leaves rot off in to the water this causes bacteria which will kill the flowers.

Step 4 – Fill the vase with fresh clean water and add the cut flower food that is supplied with your flowers, then place the flowers in your vase.

If you follow these steps you will find that your flowers will last much longer and give you many more hours of pleasure.

SPECIAL TIPS On Preparing Your Spring Daffodils.

Here's a VERY IMPORTANT tip in preparing your Daffodils when you get them home or if someone is kind enough to buy them for you...

When you get your Daffodils home, unpack them and you will need to cut the stems at an angle to allow better capillary action up the stem (water absorption).

Once the stem has been cut the Daffodil secretes a sap that is poisonous to other flowers and plants, therefore it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that immediately on cutting the stems you must place them in a separate vase or container to allow the sap to drain off. This usually lasts for no more than 24hrs. After this time has elapsed you can then introduce the Daffodils to other flowers in the same vase.

This is a top tip if you want your flowers to last.
